[WIham] 70CM Up For Auction?

Someone recently brought this up again on QRZ.  I'm not sure why they
did, its hard to tell if there has been any new political movement on
the bill or not.

I wrote a lengthy response because while there may be a threat, I
really haven't seen any efforts to promote our own use of the band.

You'd think if there was a real threat, QST could dedicate a page or
two every issue on 70 cm projects.  Be that antennas, or since the
threat centers on the ATV portion of the band, on that.

The bottom line is, I think the rules need to be relaxed to allow some
other uses for the lower part of the band.

In my opinion; don't just write your congress person to "protect the
band", write your frequency coordinator, section manager or other
division director and share with them "how great" a job they are doing
to help promote use of the band.
