Hi Jimmy,
Do you have the option to set up a echolink node on a local repeater?
Here locally we have an Echolink node on our local repeater (but currently
are having a problem) it has been up and running for at least 5 plus years.
A few years ago our Echolink guru was in Japan for work and was able to work
his wife (also a ham) via Echolink.
I was out walking one morning and heard Mark ID and I was talking to him via
Echolink via our local repeater to him in Japan...
Pretty cool!
I would look to see if there is a repeater in the area that would like to
support an Echolink connection.
It can add some additional traffic to a repeater.
