Greetings,

After taking the summer off, the Milwaukee Radio Amateurs' Club (est. 1917)

is ready to get back into action. Our first meeting for the fall season

happens Thursday September 30, 7 PM at Redemption Lutheran Church, hwy 100

and Capitol Dr.

For the meeting program:

Hams always lament no young people getting involved in amateur radio. Also,

people not building anything. Well come meet some high school students who

are into electronics (maybe not ham radio...yet) and do build things. They

are members of local FIRST Robotics teams. From the FIRST web site: "Our

mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by

engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science,

engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster

well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and

leadership."

Come to the MRAC meeting for September and meet some of these kids and see

some of their work. Meetings are open to everyone, member or not (though

there is a special deal on new members who join in the fall, 1 year's dues

covers through December 2011).
