Georgia is using D-STAR for the ARES SET. See attached message.

Both Illinois & Wisconsin each have a network of interconnected D-STAR repeaters

that cover most of the population of each state. Each state has a weekly D-STAR
net
that uses a reflector to connect all D-STAR repeaters in the state together.

D-STAR has several capabilities that would be very useful for ARES & EmComm
activities.

Subject: [ga_dstar] ARES SET Information

For stations in Georgia participating in the ARES Simulated Emergency Test (SET)

on Saturday, REF002A will be used for D-STAR voice traffic. This will be an
open regional net with no Net Control so please observe good net operating
procedures during the day. Local repeaters may link to REF002A for the Net, but

please keep non-exercise traffic off of the Net. The Georgia SOC will be
operating D-STAR voice on REF002A as WX4GMA.

REF030B will be dedicated to D-RATS traffic. The GEMA State Operations Center
(SOC) has confirmed that they will be monitoring D-RATS on REF030B as WX4GMA.
Please limit activity on REF030B or any repeaters linked to the reflector to
D-RATS traffic.

Anyone operating D-RATS with only Internet capability (no radio connection) may
connect their local D-RATS client to gtworks.dyndns.org:9000. This will link to

REF030B through WD4STR C.
