    Hello Jimmy and the list,

    This email got buried in my inbox.   I think I have helpful
answers you may be looking for.   I love V/UHF contesting,
first and foremost.   It's a time where the bands come alive,
if you know where/when to look for it.

    I'm going to provide two links that are buried a few pages
back on my website -- kc9bqa.com.   The first link is a VHF/
UHF Contest calendar.   Please ignore the first few items, as

   What I've written is an 8-part series of articles called VHF
Contesting School.   It is not fast food.   Save the link and go
thru those articles when you have the time.  Or skim thru them
and see what leaps out at you.   Have fun with it.
   Even if you're not interested in contesting, there is a lot of
solid VHF/UHF tips in those articles.   The biggest hint I
can give you anyone is "IT'S THE ANTENNAS FIRST".

    VHF Contesting is quite different from the HF side.   The
bands are not nearly as jam-packed, and the pace is slower
and a bit friendlier.   Yes, we're out to make lots of contacts
but it's not nearly as dog-eat-dog.   I wish more hams would
at least try one or two V/UHF contests and see if it clicks for
them.
    I wrote these articles to improve activity levels.   As such,
anyone is welcome to pass them around.
