Subject: [kc9lkz] Milwaukee D-Star Repeater Update

Hi All,

I'm sorry for not providing an update on the system. Currently there has been some progress in the back ground. We now have received the 1.2Ghz TX/RX triplexer. The construction of the new repeater cabinets has started. Once this is done, we will have the 2 meter repeater on air. I'm hoping to get this done before the end of March.

Since we now have the gateway running. There are a few things that you all should know. It is very important to understand how the system works. I have found it important to program several memories for the local repeater. This programming is important to be heard by a DV dongle or station on the gateway. You should make sure the RPT2 is programmed KC9LKZ G. This is also important if you want to show up while using a GPS for DAPRS. We currently have the UHF repeater connected to the Wisconsin reflector channel c most of the time.

For example I have programmed the following memories.

RPT1 KC9LKZ B RPT2 UR CQCQCQ (This is for the local repeater only no gateway.)

RPT1 KC9LKZ B RPT2 KC9LKZ G UR CQCQCQ (This will allow DV Dongle and gateway stations to talk with you.)

RPT1 KC9LKZ B RPT2 KC9LKZ G UR U (A "U" in the 8th location will unlink the repeater.)

RPT1 KC9LKZ B RPT2 KC9LKZ G UR REF019AL (Links repeater to reflector 19 channel A.)

RPT1 KC9LKZ B RPT2 KC9LKZ G UR REF019BL (Links repeater to reflector 19 channel B.)

RPT1 KC9LKZ B RPT2 KC9LKZ G UR REF019CL (Links repeater to reflector 19 channel C.)

RPT1 KC9LKZ B RPT2 KC9LKZ G UR REF001CL (Links repeater to reflector 001 channel C.)

You will only need these memories if you want to unlink or link. Other wise you will want to use the gateway or repeater only memory.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions please let me know.
