I learned just before 10am this morning that we're going
to have an interesting twist with the 144.240 SSB net tonight.
W9FZ Bruce will be taking a multi-band rover station
(with good horizontal yagis and power) to a yet-to-be-
determined location in either NE or N Central WI tonight.

There are some details to be ironed out, so it will *really*
pay to be in the on4kst.com real-time VHF chat room
tonight. The chat is free, no BS and available 24/7 for any
USA/VE hams. Wed. nights it has good activity anyway,
so check it out. Registration is quick and simple. The room
you want is "IARU Region 2 144-432 MHz".

Many of you have noticed in my signature the link to
wivuch.com. That's a program I started this spring to award
anyone who works at least 20 different WI counties on any
V/UHF band (50 MHz and up, no repeater contacts allowed)
WV9E in Onalaska has won the initial award -- he did this some
weeks ago -- details are at www.wivuch.com

W9FZ is going out in a stacked mobile/rover station tonight
to activate a difficult WIVUCH county. One that isn't typically
on the air (from a VHF/UHF perspective). Like I said, the
details aren't 100% firmed up yet. I doubt I'll be able to email in
time, so plan on being on the air tonight, and use the on4kst.com
chat so you will know what's going on. I'll share the details from
W9FZ this evening in that chat. Knowing Bruce's rover station,
he should be workable in a 100-150 mile radius.

      Should be fun...
