 The Thursday "get on vhf net" is at 8:30 PM CST.   The
main purpose of this net is to create activity on VHF, 
2 meters in particular.   This is an FM simplex net so you 
will want to have a vertical antenna. 

 This is a good chance to get some mic time if you are a new ham, or ask questions about ham radio.   This is not
a formal net, so come as you are, HT and 5 watts or 4  yagi stack and a kilowatt, all are welcome to check in and 
say hi.  Lurkers should push the button this week.  

For those interested:
The CQ WW VHF contest is 10 days away.  This is a 
world wide contest on 6 and 2 meters.  1800 UTC July
17 to 2100 UTC July 18th.  Here's the link to the rules:
