**Just occurred to me that many of you may have never seen
a Grid Square Map.** Since I'm prone to a thousand words,
here's a picture: :)

This grid square map is more printer-friendly:

Suffice it to say that for weak-signal VHF/UHF hams, grids
are the way we keep track of things. A Google search of "grid
squares", "grid square maps" or "Maidenhead Grid Squares" will
yield additional info.
If you work and confirm 100 or more of these grid squares
over time, ARRL has a nice award called VUCC. VUCC can
be done in a season or two of sporadic E skip on 6m. It's a
bigger challenge on 2m. VUCC is also awarded on higher
bands such as 222, 432, 902, 1296, 2304, 3456, 5760 MHz
and 10 GHz -- don't need 100 grids, either. Check the ARRL
website for VUCC if you need info above 144 MHz.
