Every Thursday you have two active FM Simplex nets:
146.430 @8pm from southern Sheboygan Co.
Todd KC9BQA is net control. Have an omni vertical up 90',
and 150w out. I enjoy DX check-ins and can look your way
with a 10 element vertical yagi up 75'. I have 100-200 mile
range with that yagi under normal conditions.
Send me an email prior to the net saying you'll be out there,
so I know where to look. Would enjoy finding more activity
from Northern, Central and Western or SW WI. This is the
time of year with better band conditions, esp. in the evenings,
overnight and into early/mid morning.
146.460 @8:30pm from Onalaska, La Crosse Co.
Dave WV9E is net control. More detail at wv9e.net.
Both these nets are run by individuals. Emphasis is on
creating more activity and helping guys test their capabilities.
All are welcome, listen along or say hello when it's convenient.
Help spread the word to your buddies or club.
If there are other FM simplex nets or regular activity across
WI, let me know please. KI9H advises "we monitor 146.55"
in the Eau Claire area.
Last night's 144.240 SSB net was busy, busy, busy. I had
31 check-ins from 9 states + Windsor, ONT. Also pleased to
have 13 check-ins across WI. More detail about these events
are always available at kc9bqa.com. Made several posts there
last night. Think of kc9bqa.com as a VHF/UHF newspaper.
Read the paper for a few minutes and you're all caught up.
