Hello Mike!!!

Welcome to the group. This is unfortunately a quiet reflector as are most.
There is a repeater in Oshkosh that you may be able to get into that uses
carrier access. It is 147.24 MHz. I live in West Allis and hold several
positions in the League. Keep your eye out on the FCC website. As soon as
you see your call posted there, you are legal to get on the air.

Subject: [WIham] Is anybody out there?

Hello everyone,

I joined this reflector several days ago and have been
monitoring the traffic. It seems as dead as the local 2 meter
repeater.

I took and passed the no code Tech exam saturday and was hoping
to learn something about the Wisconsin ham radio scene from this
reflector.

I have been monitoring 2 meter FM with my scanner and it seems
pretty dead in Fond du Lac. I decided I'd listen while waiting
for my license grant from the FCC, but I haven't heard much so
far.

Any suggestions on getting started? Equipment suggestions?
What's out there for the no code Tech to do ?

73's
Mike
