I'm new here. My name is Todd and my callsign is KC9BQA. My QTH is =
in the middle of Washington County. =20

I've been interested in SWL and scanners most of my life but this =
spring, I finally decided to get my ham license. I'm not really that =
strong on the electronics end of things, but I sure do love listening to =
DX. =20

I'm not a kid anymore, so I can (finally) afford a few of the radios =
and toys that I couldn't when I was back in high school. My =
station/shack is starting to take shape. I have the following =
equipment: An old Icom IC-R70 SWL rig from those high school days. =
Now, I've added an IC-736 HF/6meters rig. I want very much to get =
active on 6 meters. I actually have a used IC-575H (100 watts on 6 and =
10 meters) on the way from a ham who sold it to me. So I'll be able to =
monitor two things at once on 6 meters. I also have an IC-2100 mobile 2 =
meter rig in the car, hooked up to a 5/8 wave mag mount antenna. =20

I'll talk a little bit more about my equipment and antennas in the =
next post.

Because this mail list has been so inactive, I'm going to break my =
story down into bite-sized pieces. I don't want to overload the system, =
hihi. I hope this list doesn't completely go away. It seems like a =
good idea to have a place where hams from and near Wisconsin can get in =
touch with each other.

   73,
Todd Sprinkmann KC9BQA, near West Bend, WI
