From w9dp at w9dp.us Fri Oct 7 14:20:51 2022 From: w9dp at w9dp.us (w9dp at w9dp.us) Date: Fri, 7 Oct 2022 13:20:51 -0500 Subject: [WIARC] 147.030 and 147.195 Message-ID: <00c501d8da79$887a8b20$996fa160$@w9dp.us> Wednesday evening it was apparent that the 147.030 repeater was off the air. WB9EWM and W9WE have it back and running but they took the 147.195 repeater off the air to do so. Currently, 147.030 should be pretty much functioning as normal but 147.195 will remain off the air until a fix or replacement is found for the failed hardware that was being used on 147.030. I strongly urge all the WIARC members that possibly can to get on for whatever time you can. In the past, we have used 146.550 FM simplex for local QSO's plus working all the other club members on all the band s we can. There are a few club members that are going to operate portable, W9WE, WB9EWM and WA0VHI will all be operating from the Pike/Calhoun county line, K9AJC will be operating from the Adams/Hancock/Schyler county corner and N9JF will be mobile, activating several counties in western Illinois. I am planning to be at the club station for anyone to come and use but so far have not heard from anyone indicating they want to do so. If you plan on coming by the club station at the Red Cross let me know ASAP. If I do not hear from anyone by Saturday evening, I will operate from my home station. I hope to work many of you Sunday. Even if you can only do 2 meters, call and listen on 146.550 FM simplex for other local stations. If we all leave our 2 meter radios on during the day, we will be able to hear others whenever they may be on but I imagine the local activity will be at its peak around 2 to 4 PM local time. I have not heard from anyone wanting to come to operate the club station as a part of a potential multi-op group. If you think this is something you want to do, let me know by this evening, otherwise I will stay home to operate tomorrow.
