I wanted to throw out an email to let club members know, that I was planning to bring some of my portable setup gear to the park. This will include my new portable rig (kind of), portable antennas, and miscellaneous. Also looking forward to input on a new antennas I have put together for portable/ILQP. These two antennas are mostly finished, but will receive the finishing touches soon. Now that they have been tested and confirmed that I could make them work, I plan to make changes. Please inject your ideas. This idea came from a blog post I read online somewhere and was designed for QRP. I made it for not QRP (hope it will take 500w). That has not been tested yet and don?t plan to do that at the park either. So if interested please come to the meeting tonight. I plan to leave home at around 5pm and get a good spot where I can setup. Weather is really nice, but hope the park is not to crowded. 73 Chris Schulz NR9Q From dpease at adams.net Wed Sep 1 13:05:08 2021 From: dpease at adams.net (Danny Pease) Date: Wed, 01 Sep 2021 12:05:08 -0500 Subject: [WIARC] Free magazines Message-ID: <9193ac68-911a-48bd-b51f-76addec48e7b@adams.net> I will have a collection of ham radio magazines from a silent key at the meeting this evening. The hardware at the EMA site is being changed out and when the new hardware is up and running, the digipeater should be using KA9EMA-10 for digipeating (not PBBS) and should be a Winlink? gateway as well. I cannot say exactly when this will be active or if the gateway will be online immediately after the new hardware is online, but it could be as early as this afternoon. The W9DP-10 gateway will still be on the air but once KA9EMA-10 has it's gateway running, using it instead of W9DP-10 will give much better throughput since it will eliminate the digipeater hop. If you have any questions? don't hesitate to ask. Danny W9DP
