It was pointed out to me that there are probably many club members that do not know how to use the club email reflector. The reflector is evenmore important for sharing information? and asking questions and giving answers now that we are not seeing each other nearly as often.

If you have a question to ask of the membership, if you have an announcement that other club members might be interested in or just want to done check something, send an email to

wiarc at mailman.qth.net

This is the same email address that you receive notifications about meetings or newsletter availability. It exists for the use of the club membership, take advantage of it. Any club member that receives emails about our club newsletter and meetings can send messages to the group. That makes it great for asking questions or asking for help. Any message sent to wiarc at mailman.qth.net will be delivered to everyone in the group, so remember if you only want to reply to one person, send them an email directly.

Don't forget the WIARC Monthly Sprint!  Pick any contiguous 4-hour operating
segment from the 1st to the 20th of the month.  Multiply the number of
contacts by "the multiplier" for your final score. The multiplier for
September is the number of different prefixes worked.  Send your score (not
your log) to n9jf at arrl.net by the end of the day on the 21st for inclusion
in that month's newsletter.  Include any highlights or operating details
(bands and modes used, most interesting QSOs, best DX, etc.).

Thanks Danny for the info on the WIARC club email repeater, I did not know
about this. I am sorry I have not gotten on the Radio much for a while,
have been super overloaded at work and with overtime. I have not forgotten

At the September meeting, it was suggested we restart the Elmer Corps.

Members of the Elmer Corps will be volunteers that are willing to be
available to help club members find answers to technical, procedural or
rules questions. As an Elmer, you will agree to answer email or telephone

Does anyone in the club have a 70cm yagi that is good in the 440-450Mhz part of the band? Would like to find something that has some gain, say 12-20 elements. Subject: [WIARC] help with the morning ragchew net

I am looking for assistance with the morning ragchew net on 147.030. The
Second Cup Coffee net has been attracting a handful of people every day,
with 4 to 7 stations checking in and lasts up to an hour. I am looking for
anyone that is willing to help facilitate a session, either just once in a
while, or in an ongoing position. If I can get a few others to help, it can
be a daily thing. Right now it is Monday through Friday at 9:00 AM, if
anyone wants to act as facilitator (NCS but a little less formal), you can
pretty much pick when you want to help. If I cannot get a little more help,
it may cut back to only a couple of times a week. If anyone is interested in
facilitating on weekends, you are more than welcome to do so as well.

Let me know if you are interested or if you have any questions. This is not
a just club only thing, if anyone outside the club wants to participate,
that would be great.

The October club meeting is scheduled for Wednesday October 7, 7:00 PM, at
one of the shelter houses in Moorman Park (weather permitting). If the
weather does not cooperate, an alternative will be announced just prior to
the meeting date. If anyone wants to use the conference call option, let us
know and we will see that it is available.

Prior to the meeting in October, there will be a tailgate flea market at the
meeting location (weather permitting). The intention is to start the
tailgate flea market at about 6:00 PM. Bring your items you want to sell or
trade or bring some cash and take home a treasure!

Good afternoon members,

Just a reminder that the club meeting is next Wednesday at the same location as last meeting. This is in the the Moorman Park off of 36th street again. Net is at 6:45 pm with meeting beginning at 7pm. The shelter house location might be different as we will take what we find convenient when we get there.

Remember to bring anything you would like to give, trade, or sale. We are going to have a swap meet tailgate style at 6pm. Hope this is somewhat of a useful success for all members coming to the meeting.

Let?s do our best to spread out and give everyone their space. Look forward to seeing everyone that makes it to the meeting. 73
