Get those PaQP juices flowing tomorrow, by stopping by for the Ohio QSO Party. It runs noon to midnight on Saturday, 80-10 meters, phone & CW, but no digital.
Especially from EPA, Ohio ought to be in a good skip zone on 40 meters for much of the day. With that same skip zone, 80/75 gets some Ohio activity during the day, so don't hesitate to listen there as well. Please keep 3545, +/- half a KHz or so, clear for the mobile stations. That way one can monitor there and if there is activity, it will quite likely be with a mobile, often in a new and possibly rare county.
Interesting factoid: Ohio has 21 counties that share names with Pennsylvania counties: Adams, Butler, Clinton, Crawford, Delaware, Erie, Fayette, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Union, Warren, Washington, and Wayne. Subtract that from Ohio's 88 counties and you get --- 67 ! ---.
Full rules, planned operations, etc., are at the Ohio QSO Party website, www.ohqp.org. I'll be out mobile (and hope to be out in PA in October as well), and hope to hear and work lots of Pennsylvania folks!
