A reminder that Field Day is today and tomorrow at the Red Cross in Quincy.
Set up starts at 9:00 AM, the event goes on air at 1:00 PM and will go until
1:00 PM Sunday with tear down following as soon as the last QSO is logged.
Besides operators, several people will be needed for tear down on Sunday.
There will be a carry in meal at 6:00 PM Saturday, pulled pork, hot dogs,
tea and lemonade will be provided, please bring a dish or two to share.
Everyone is invited, bring your family, friends or even the neighbor's kids
(you will be responsible for the kids though).
As a part of that event, we are going to attempt to use solar power to make
at least 5 QSO's on 146.520, stations that will not be a part of the
operation at the Red Cross can help by working W9AWE on 2 meter simplex
Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM local time. NA9Q will announce on 147.030 that
he will be going to 146.520 simplex. If, for some reason, the 3:00 PM time
does not happen, Mike will try again Sunday morning at 10:00 AM local time.
The W9AWE 2 meter simplex station will be powered by solar panels and will
only be using 5 watts but will be using the dualband antenna at 80 feet at
the Red Cross.
