If you want to help or need more information, contact Mike McCabe at mccabe at illisignal.com Danny NG9R I am in need of 6 or 7 hams to help with this years Running Raider Classic. This is a 10k run and 5k walk run that is located in South and Indian Mounds Park. It is like the bridge the gap but on a much smaller scale. It starts and finishes on Jackson Street in front of Quincy Notre Dame High School. Proceeds of the event go to fund the Student's Cross Country Team, both boys and girls, and the boys Wrestling Team. The date is June 24th and It starts at 7:30am so we will need to be in positions by 7:15am and we will be done by 10:00am at the latest, with most Hams done much sooner so it should not interfere with Field Day too much. We will be using the 147.360 + 600 portable repeater. If you don't have a 2 meter radio I am sure we can round one up to loan to you for the event. PLUS !!!!! You get a free Tee Shirt!!!!!! I will even autograph it for you if you want :-) If you can help please contact me at: mmccabe at illinoissignal.com or call me at 217-242-6368 Thanks Mike McCabe From dpease at adams.net Sat Jun 17 13:36:25 2017 From: dpease at adams.net (dpease) Date: Sat, 17 Jun 2017 12:36:25 -0500 (CDT) Subject: [WIARC] W9LMT silent key Message-ID: <194465676.2.1497720985413.JavaMail.dpease@adams.net> From dpease at adams.net Tue Jun 20 17:14:11 2017 From: dpease at adams.net (Danny Pease) Date: Tue, 20 Jun 2017 16:14:11 -0500 Subject: [WIARC] Field Day logging video tutorial Message-ID: <063601d2ea0a$2a30cee0$7e926ca0$@adams.net> A reminder, this weekend is Field Day and we are hosting the Hannibal ARC in Quincy at the Red Cross this year. As we have the past few years, we will be using N1MM for our logging software. If you are not familiar or are a bit uncomfortable with using N1MM, there are several online resources to help you. Here is a link to a 10 minute video by NV9L on using N1MM for Field Day. In this video Val tells you all you need to know (and then some) to start using N1M. If you look on Youtube, you will find several other videos on using N1MM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAS5iHPg78c The for the SSB operators, the logging program will most likely already be set for the proper contest and interfaced to the radio when you sit down to operate, all you will need to do is change the operator call sign and start working stations. The CW ops may want to change some of the CW messages to fit their preferences. If you have any questions, now is the time to get them answered so you will be ready when it is your turn to operate. Set up starts at 9:00 AM, the event goes on air at 1:00 PM and will go until 1:00 PM Sunday with tear down following as soon as the last QSO is logged. Besides operators, several people will be needed for tear down on Sunday. There will be a carry in meal at 6:00 PM Saturday, pulled pork, hot dogs, tea and lemonade will be provided, please bring a dish or two to share. Everyone is invited, bring your family, friends or even the neighbor's kids (you will be responsible for the kids though). As a part of that event, we are going to attempt to use solar power to make at least 5 QSO's on 146.520, stations that will not be a part of the operation at the Red Cross can help by working W9AWE on 2 meter simplex Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM local time. NA9Q will announce on 147.030 that he will be going to 146.520 simplex. If, for some reason, the 3:00 PM time does not happen, Mike will try again Sunday morning at 10:00 AM local time. The W9AWE 2 meter simplex station will be powered by solar panels and will only be using 5 watts but will be using the dualband antenna at 80 feet at the Red Cross.
