This will most likely happen in the early to mid-afternoon. Once the change takes place, you will not be able to access the 146.940 repeater by using the old PL tone, you will have to use the new one, 123.0. This only affects the 146.940 repeater all other WIARC repeaters will continue to use a PL tome of 103.5. If you cannot access it, check to make sure you have changed the PL tone in your radio to 123.0 Tomorrow is the first Wednesday of March and that means club meeting night. I will be bringing a laptop with Chirp programing software and a programing cable for the Boefeng, Pofung, Wouxun and a few Kenwood hand held radios for those that may want help making the change. See you tomorrow evening. We have a few members that mentioned they are wanting to come and help with a casual multi-operator effort from the club station. Originally, N9JF was going to be there and his plans have changed so he will not be able to help. Because of that, I will plan on being there all day Saturday but, unless someone is really set on operating Friday evening, I do not plan on coming in to operate Friday evening. If someone really wants to operate this evening, let me know and I will make arrangements to either be there or to have someone there that can help. I will try to be at the Red Cross by 8:00 AM Saturday. If you do come by, you may want to get my attention on 147.030 or by texting or calling me at 217-430-2046 so I know you are coming and can let you in. You will very likely notice several differences but what the repeater board needs is feedback on performance. If you notice anything much different in coverage, please let someone on the repeater board know. The power output is within a few watts of what it had been running and it should be heard about the same as before, we are really interested in how well it hears and if there are any issues with squelch settings, time outs or unusual transmissions. You will not hear any of the old audio announcements that were generated by the old 7K controller as it is not in the circuit at this time, but may be added back at some future time. This morning it stands at 101, so we have managed to qualify for the ARRL DXCC award through LoTW. We were at 88 confirmations prior to the ARRL CW contest weekend, that number rose to 98 before the SSB contest weekend and we have had three more LoTW confirmations since then (with more to come). Thanks to N9JF for operating using the club call from his station during the CW weekend and thanks to WB9WAJ and KC9VZD for operating for the ARRL DX phone weekend from the club station.
