N9JF used the club call from his place and made s few hundred QSOs in an effort to pick up a few more DXCC entities for the club call and accomplishing DXCC via LoTW. What Jim did this weekend may push us over the 100 mark, but since not all DX stations upload to LoTW immediately, we will not likely know for a few months. We have another opportunity to work DX on March 5 & 6, as that is the weekend for the ARRL DX phone contest. I really would like to see some of our club membership help with a multi-operator effort from the club station. If you have any interest in operating at all, let me know and we can work out operating times. Danny NG9R From dpease at adams.net Fri Feb 26 16:07:08 2016 From: dpease at adams.net (Danny Pease) Date: Fri, 26 Feb 2016 15:07:08 -0600 Subject: [WIARC] March newsletter and meeting Message-ID: <009001d170d9$a79a0c80$f6ce2580$@adams.net> The March issue of the Western Illinois ARC Feedline is available for viewing. It can be viewed at: http://www.w9awe.org/feedline.pdf Notice there is a flyer for the 2016 Tri-State Severe Weather Conference added to the end of this month's newsletter. Please seriously consider attending if at all possible, you will not be disappointed. While I have you thinking about severe weather, the NWS out of St. Louis, MO will have SKYWARN classes in our area during March. There is a class scheduled for March 2nd in Brown County and in Quincy on March 14th. Check the St Louis NWS page for details and complete schedule. The March meeting of the Western Illinois ARC will be held Wednesday March 2nd, 7:30 PM, at the Red Cross in Quincy. One of the items we will be discussing will be the opportunity to activate the club station for the ARRL DX phone contest March 5 & 6. If you have not paid your dues for 2016, please do so by the March meeting. Any current member not paying their dues by then will be dropped from the membership roll. Remember, the PL tone used to access the 146.940 repeater will be changing from 103.5 to 123.0 on March 1st. After that, you will have to use 123.0 PL tone to be able to use the repeater. This only affects the 146.940 repeater, all other WIARC repeaters will still use 103.5. See you at the meeting. Danny NG9R
