[WIARC] Western Illinois October announcements

The October issue of the Western Illinois ARC Feedline is available for

The October WIARC will meet Wednesday October 7, 7:30 PM, at the Red Cross
in Quincy. Besides the usual business, I am sure we will be hearing plenty
about the upcoming Illinois QSO Party.

Illinois QSO Party is Sunday October 18 from 12:00 noon until 8:00 PM CDST
(1700 UTC until 0100 UTC Oct 19). We need everyone club member to get
involved with this event. Get on from home or, better yet, go out and set up
on a county line or corner and operate Field Day style. If you are really
dedicated and have the ability, do a nice drive in the country and activate
several counties from the mobile. So far I have not heard of any definite
plans from WIARC members. If you do not have a station to operate from or do
not live in Illinois and want to help the club score, you can come and
operate as a part of a multi-op effort at the club station. Whatever you
decide, get on the air!

On Saturday October 10 we will be having a work day at the club station and
can use several hands to help. We will be de-cluttering and cleaning the
club station, putting connectors on coax and cleaning up the storage area in
the garage. We will start at 9:00 AM and will be there until we run out of
work or workers, whatever comes first.
