Polyphaser makes a protection device that panel mounts. Then you only need
one grounded panel.
I have used them for years in the broadcast business for receive antenna
feeds and very low power systems.

Chris, What about putting 90 deg connectors on the coax from the antenna.

I will just have to get panel connectors and add 90 degree connector. I
still need to do the lightning protection. I am going to add these to the
1/4" thick aluminum plate at the back of the house. This is where the coax
leaves the house from the basement. I am soon going to add this lightning
protection with grounding rods to this aluminum plate. This makes two panels
to pass through now. Hope this does not add up on the loss side of things to
much.
