This is wide-band FM, just like the current band.? So, signals maybe distorted on most VHF communications receivers.? Might be a good time to use that SDR dongle. More infoHERE . Based on signal reports from back in 2005, you should be able to hear WA2XMN out to about 60-70 miles.? Propagation on 42.8 MHz is a bit better than the current FM band.? Farthest report was from Mt. Greylock, 127 miles, but that's the highest point in Massachusetts at 3,489 feet. There are a couple of niggling technical details that need to be cleaned up.? I'll keep you informed.
