The ARRL SET will be conducted on Sunday, Oct 11 between 2 and approximately 4 pm. We will man the Red Cross radio room and will not travel at this time as members are scattered enough and this is a let's see/training exercise as it is our first of this type of group communication. Red Cross personnel are interested in this evolution and a couple will be on hand at the center. We will be using the repeater and possibly switch to simplex for the latter part to determine the effectiveness of a total power outage.
I would like to try a dry run on messaging possibly after our Monday night ARES net or some other time(s) during the next 7 or so days...suggestions?
Enclosed is the NEMBS setup the sw PA group uses; we will try acoustical coupling (radio and computer mic/speaker next to one another).
