Amateur radio has been my favorite hobby for many years. However, I have decided to step back from several of my current responsibilities and wanted to share these changes with you.

Skywarn:
Serving with Skywarn to help West Virginians impacted by severe weather is incredibly rewarding. Currently, I coordinate reports from two different Skywarn Nets while maintaining constant communication with NWS Meteorologists, Emergency Management, and the media, all while acting as Net Control. It's a lot for one person to handle.

To ensure this remains manageable, we are looking for someone to step up as the North Central WV Skywarn Net Control. The role is not overly complex, and prior experience as a net control or being a weather expert is not required. The net only operates during severe weather. I will stay involved as the North Central WV Skywarn coordinator and we will work together to share the load.

Weekly and Monthly Nets:
It has been a pleasure serving as the Alternate Net Control for the Monday Mon County ARES Net and as the Net Control for the monthly FM and SSB Simplex nets. Please note that I will be stepping down from all three of these positions prior to June 1, 2026.

I truly hope these nets continue to thrive, and I encourage you to consider volunteering for any of these roles. These nets perform an important service for our community.

I look forward to seeing you on the air.

Jeff, WB1AAL
