Here is our Skywarn plan for today (Sunday) and Monday:
We will activate the North Central WV in Standby Mode on the W8MWA repeater (145.430 MHz, standard offset, PL 103.5.) I will ask for your snowfall and road reports at the top of the hour, every hour starting at 1000 (10 AM) EST. You can also email your reports at any time to jnfritz07@gmail.com.
We will continue to ask for reports at the top of the hour throughout the day and evening today depending on how this storm develops.
From the NWS Pittsburgh:
Snowfall is expected across the region today. In the lowlands, marginal temperatures likely keep wet snow accumulations mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. In the WV ridges, heavier snow will fall and so totals can reach above a foot at the highest elevations.
Remember: a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the West Virginia ridges for 6-12 inches of snow through tomorrow, with isolated higher totals on the highest peaks. Also 2 to 6 inches is expected in the Winter Weather Advisory area bordering the Warning (all of Marion and Monongalia counties,) and 1 to 3 inches is expected elsewhere. Jeff, WB1AAL
