Here’s where we are at this evening.

I asked the NWS Pittsburgh if they are considering cancelling the Blizzard Warnings for Preston and Tucker Counties. After all, weather  this evening so far has been relatively quiet. The answer was no. They still expect blizzard conditions to develop.

RADAR indicates that lake effect snow bands are headed in our direction.  They do not look all that serious at this time and the temperature in Fairmont and Morgantown is still above freezing.

However, the same may not be true for Preston and Tucker Counties. So out of prudence, I will activate the North Central West Virginia Skywarn Net at 20:00 EDT on the W8MWA repester.

Please check in and let me know your weather conditions—reports are welcome from annywhere but especially for stations in Preston and Tucker Counties.
