To: Mig Crowe <radiogirl1952@gmail.com>Thanks for all of the information! I'll definitely relay it to WVUARC, I'm sure there will be interest in a variety of places! I plan to be in attendance at more of your meetings moving forward!
I also attached a copy of our Meeting Flyer we've been posting around campus. As with our Thursday night nets, everyone from MWA is always welcome!Best, and "73!"- AMK/ Aidan M. Things have been a little hectic. If you let us know when your meetings are and any presentation you will be having, I can let everyone know. We have a reflector set up and you are all welcome to join it. We use it to get the word out to everyone about events. You are welcome to use it to contact the local hams that sign up for it. Just have everyone interested go to:They can remove themselves at any time. You are correct that your club members automatically become associate members of the MWA. You are all welcome to attend our meetings and participate in any activities we have. We will be co-hosting the Morgantown Christmas Parade and it's a great way for new hams to get their feet wet (or covered in snow) participating in a working net. We make sure they are paired with experienced hams, so no pressure. Our Christmas party is the third Tuesday in December. I know a lot of your members will have headed home for the holiday, but anyone still in town is welcome to attend. We meet on the third Tuesday of every month at the American Red Cross Office, 3rd Floor, White Birch Towers, Pineview Dr, Morgantown, WV, 26505, at 7:00 PM. Talk in Frequency is 145.43 w/PL 103.5.Our club is active in the Skywarn system, working with the Pittsburgh office of the National Weather Service. It's another good way to get experience in a working net, and it helps the NWS by reporting weather conditions on the ground locally.A number of our hams already participate in your weekly net. Ours is on Monday at 9 PM on our repeater. Please let everyone know that we would love to hear from all of you.We look forward to working closer with all of you this next year. Hastih - KE8TJE sent me your emails as good contacts for the W8MWA radio club!W8CUL would like to invite the members of your club to our first General Meeting this Thursday at 7 PM in the Advanced Engineering Research Building (Room 135) on WVU's Evansdale Campus. I can provide directions if needed.Of course, we also have our Weekly Net, which will be online starting this week, at 9 PM on Thursdays on the W8CUL 2M repeater. I wanted to mention this as our nets have been semi-spotty/not guaranteed over the summer.
As I am aware, members of W8CUL are automatically recognized as non-voting members of W8MWA. In the past few years, we have been relatively separate in our events & membership. I would love to try to renew a closer friendship between our organizations, as I feel it could be beneficial for all.If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or anything else, please feel free to reach out to me in any way that is convenient for you.I hope to see or hear you on Thursday!Best, and "73!",Aidan M.
