Turns out I will be in Morgantown on June 21 for a MHS class picnic. I am thinking of bringing a rig and a portable vertical to operate this contest.  Does anyone have a recommended location for a portable operation? I wouldn't start until around 2000 UTC.

Also I wonder how much activity there is and whether it's worth setting up. When I have done this one from home (Western PA) I never seem to work many, but maybe I am on the wrong band since only 40 and 80 would be usable.

Anyway, any comments would be appreciated.  My email is k3fh@ymail.com.

I grew up in Morgantown and was licensed in 1967 as WN8YCC in the same group as Bob and a few others.  I passed the General in 68 and Advanced in 69, so the call became WA8YCC.

Not the best callback CW contesting or chasing rare dx. 😀

I was in MWA until I left post-college in 1973.
