When we are facing a significant weather event, such as we are today with potential flooding this afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service sends out message alerts entitled "URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED." These are the same messages that trigger the weather scrolls that you see at the bottom of your TV screens.

Several hams have contacted me about receiving these alert messages. These are hams who are on the club lists but are not on the Skywarn list. They have indicated to me that, while they do not wish to receive the weather messages that are posted to the Skywarn list, they do want to receive the Immediate Broadcast messages. In response to this, I will begin posting URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED messages to all three lists.

I am aware that there are hams who want weather related messages to remain limited on the club lists. I understand and appreciate this. Therefore, I will limit the number of times that these messages go out on the club lists. The North Central West Virginia Skywarn list will continue to receive all weather related messages.
