It has certainly been a difficult time over the last 24 hours, but thanks to the ham radio operators in the North Central West Virginia Skywarn Net for staying with us. It helps tremendously with knowing what is happening in northern West Virginia and incorporating necessary calls to action and severity levels in these warnings.

Flash floods have been, and continue to be, the most devastating weather events in our region. Here at the NWS Pittsburgh, we share in the grief for communities affected in Marion and Monongalia counties in West Virginia. While we wish we could stop it from happening, the best we can do is try to keep folks informed when disaster does strike. Just know we are here as a resource and a friend, living in the very communities we serve.
