Due to issuance of a Flood Warning specifically for Marion, Monongalia and Preston Counties, the North Central West Virginia Skywarn Net has been activated this Saturday morning on the W8MWA two meter repeater.

The NWS  is asking us for reports of flooding, wind damage, or other severe hazard impacts. This data is utilized to better assess storm impacts, aid work with county emergency managers, and improve future warning operations.

As requested, the NC WV Skywarn Net will be taking flood reports and sending them directly to the NWS. However, please check Io the Net even  you do not have a report. Where flooding has not occurred is as useful as knowing where it has occurred.

From the NWS Pittsburgh:

Areas of heavy rain continue across north central WV as an upper level wave tracks along the stalled front. The highest precipitable water was also located across this area. The front should shift southward after the passage of the upper wave later this morning.

Continued heavy rainfall this morning has prompted a Flash Flood Warning across portions of Marion, Monongalia and Preston Counties in West Virginia. This warning runs until 9am this morning.
