I realize that it is early Saturday morning, but due to a Flash Flood Warning for our area the North Central WV ARES Skywarn Net has been activated on the W8MWA two meter repeater. We need stations to check in as we have active flooding in our area and the NWS in Pittsburgh needs all reports. Even if you have no flooding in your QTH they want to know that as well.

* Until 1000 AM EDT.
* At 849 AM EDT, local law enforcement and ham radio operators reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement and amateur radio reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Fairmont, Pleasant Valley, Winfield, Barrackville, Monongah, Brookhaven, Rivesville, Grant Town, Reedsville, Masontown, Farmington, Worthington, Everettville, Colfax, Baxter, Valley Falls, Browns Chapel, Bentons Ferry, Gladesville, White Hall. Rowlesburg, Hannahsville, Saint George, Pifer Moutain, Aurora,Cathedral State Park and Elgon.
Skywarn stations reported roads flooded and cars stranded near the Fairmont area in Marion County.Tucker County 911 Dispatch reported water over the roadway along parts of Cheat Valley Highway in northwestern Tucker County.
Floodwaters will take time to recede even after heavy rain ends.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
