Many thanks to Randy, N8OZY, for running the North Central West Virginia ARES Skywarn Net yesterday. And thanks to those who participated in the Net.
As daylight has now arrived, there will be flood damage that could not be observed at nighttime. Therefore Randy is planning to run a brief NC WV Skywarn Net on the W8MWA two meter repeater this morning. He will activate the net around 07:30 EDT.
Please plan to join him. Remember that “nothing to report in my location” can be as valuable to the NWS as a “we have something here” report. So please check in regardless.
Deckers Creek in Morgantown was rapidly rising with yesterday’s heavy rainfall. Latest observation provided by the NWS Pittsburgh has it at 6.3 feet which is into moderate flood stage. Impacts to some business and homes is likely along Deckers Creek Boulevard and Nolan Street.
See the attached graphic.
If you have any reports or observations related to Decker’s Creek please report them to Randy or me.
73 and thanks,
Jeff, WB1AAL
