The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Marion County in northern West Virginia...
Central Monongalia County in northern West Virginia...

* Until 1145 PM EDT.

* At 816 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain across
the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Morgantown, Fairmont, Westover, Star City, Pleasant Valley,
Winfield, Granville, Cassville, Rivesville, Everettville, Booth,
Georgetown, Crown, Osage, Colfax, Valley Falls, Bentons Ferry and
White Hall.

Numerous roads remain flooded across the area. Additional moderate
to heavy rainfall will move across the area this evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
