I am sending this message to all three lists at the request of the NWS.

A powerful storm moved through parts of Monongalia and Greene Counties overnight. The storm contained winds up to 70 MPH, frequent ground to cloud lightning and it had a tornadic signature on RADAR. While it missed Morgantown and Fairmont it did hit areas in nearby locations.

The NWS has requested damage reports from us. The attached graphic shows the areas in red where reports are especially needed, This includes any downed trees, power lines down, roads partially or fully blocked and localized flooding. If you have any damage reports either through direct knowledge or from reliable sources, please submit them.

You can do this in any of the following ways:

  • Via the W8MWA repeater or the W8SP repeater. Simply call WB1AAL. I am monitoring both machines.
  • Send email to jnfritz07@gmail.com
  • Posting to this list.

The reports received will help the NWS, first responders and the media know where damage has occurred and help is needed.

Jeff, WB1AAL
