If you are up and awake at this early morning hour, the North Central West Virginia Skywarn Net has gone into Active Mode at 05:30. We are still under a Winter Storm Warning.

Stations are requested to check into the Skywarn Net on the W8MWA ten meter repeater and report their current snowfall totals.

We have the proverbial “lull in the storm” at the moment. But as you can see from the attached graphics, we are not yet done with this wibter storm.

From the NWS Pittsburgh:

A winter storm will affect North Central West Virginia through Monday. Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect along and south of Interstate 70.

Power outages are increasing in the West Virginia as the freezing line advances north and ice starts to build up

Don't want to forget about our friends down in Preston and Tucker who may see some sleet/freezing rain mix in as warmer temperatures tries to nudge northward. A warm air layer may kick in later on this morning. It'll be marginal, but something to keep an eye on.
