New Year's Eve is Straight Key Night (SKN) for those who love or are starting out in CW operation.  You are sure to find slow ops since everyone is (should be) using a straight, fist-pounder key (the kind that telegraph and ship operators used to use).  No log submissions, just mess around.  No one will remember you anyway; it's old time ham radio.  If you really want, you can make or get QSL cards to send to those you work to commemorate your first CW QSOs.
