The following advisory was issued this morning by the NWS Pittsburgh:
It would be good to message cautious driving this morning for North Central West Virginia locations within some of the heavier snow showers (see the attached graphic just issued.) These snow showers are capable of creating a quick, thin layer of snow on roadways that may prove slick and are a notable change in conditions from the more wet roads elsewhere.
The most likely areas for snow accumulation today and tonight will be over the ridges. This snow will move east of the area by this afternoon. This will bring in another shot of cold air as well as gusty winds. Temperatures today will change very little and may begin to slowly fall this afternoon.
With gusty winds, wind chills will drop down into the teens to lower 20s later today. Bundle up. Looks like the cold weather will be here to stay.
