I sent this out earlier but am re sending it. Tomorrow is the
day. It looks to be a great day weather wise.
We're planning to use the 146.76 repeater for coordination. As
parking is limited at the riverfront Please call in on the
repeater before you come down. I plan to just assign you somewhere
unless you have a specific place in mind. There are several places
along the route that you can just park and work from your car if
you want.
I've had limited response on who's available so we'll make do as we can. If you can come out please do so. This is a community event and I'd hate to see us fail due to lack of participation. I'm not worried about having too many - there's room for all. If you're afraid to volunteer because you think you might make a mistake, well forget that idea. We've all done that. It's not an issue. That's how you learn. We'll coach you through it if you need. Also there will be a couple extra handheld radios available if someone need to borrow one.
Hope to see you tomorrow. I'll be on the air around 10:00 or so.

Attached find the proposed map of the walk. It's on the streets of downtown Morgantown. This is a football Saturday so it's anybody's guess as to traffic at this time. We can use as many people as we can get but a minimum of 8 to cover the route seems to be necessary. At a minimum I'd like to put 2 people at the start, one at University Ave and Foundry St., one at University and Fayette St., one at Chestnut and Fayette, one at Chestnut and Willey, one at Willey and Spruce, one on Pleasant between Spruce and High, one at High and Fayette. If we have more we'll spread them out and fill in wherever we think will be a good place.
This
is a good chance to get your feet wet with public service work.
I encourage everyone to get some experience. This should be a
low key event with us just providing route / walker updates,
keeping an eye out for anyone having difficulties, things like
that.
By the published schedule of events and experience from last year, I expect the walk portion of the day to actually start closer to 12:30 but I'd like to have people in place by 11:30 if possible. The actual walk will probably take about an hour. I anticipate being able to use simplex operation for the event but I will check and get permission to use the WVU 146.76 repeater if we find simplex won't get it. Hope to test that sometime before the event.
More info as I get it.
Thanks for your help
