From the NWS Pittsburgh:

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible

* WHERE...Preston and Tucker Counties in West Virginia Including the cities of Parsons, Terra Alta, Thomas, Rowlesburg, Davis, and Hazelton

* WHEN...From Thursday evening through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Please monitor the W8MWA two-meter repeater, local forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Note: The Flood Watch is due to Tropical Storm Debby coming into our area  from the south and meeting up with a cold front and associated storms descending from the north.

Expect the NC WV SkYWARN Net to go into Standby Mode on Thursday evening. The Net will go to Active Mode should the NWS Pittsburgh issue a Flood Warning for our area.

See the attached graphic for Debby’s expected path and expected rainfall totals.
