If you are participating in Field Day over the weekend please stay hydrated and stay in the shade as much as possible. As things stand now, Field Day weekend will be extremely hot.

I have asked Mike Kennedy, the Meteorologist on duty this morning at the NWS Pittsburgh, to provide a preliminary forecast for us over the weekend. Following is what he provided along with a Heat Risk graphic.

Expect mostly sunny conditions with potentially record breaking temperatures. It will be hot. Mid to upper 90s with heat index values above 100F.

Saturday will be the hottest of the two days with temperatures expected to reach 98 F. (This is the actual temperature—not the feels like. The feels like temperature with be 106 F.) Sunday will still be slightly cooler but the temperature will still be well above average.
