This morning the NWS Pittsburgh made the decision to upgrade the heat watch to a heat advisory for the week (through Friday.) This decision was made due to anticipated high afternoon temperatures (approaching 100 F) and warm overnight temperatures (in the 70s F.)

This kind of weather information is normally carried on another ham radio mailing list that is in place for SKYWARN weather activity and notifications. This list is open to all interested persons. You do not have to be a member of the Monongalia Wireless Association or a SKYWARN member to join the list.

A number of local hams have already subscribed to the SKYWARN Weather mailing list. However, we may have some newer hams who aren't aware of the list.
