The Monongalia ARES SKYWARN Net has been closed as the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for Monongalia and Preston Counties have expired.

However, the NWS Pittsburgh has cautioned us about a couple of important things:

1, There is upstream development of severe weather in Ohio. It is possible that these storms may make it into our area later tonight. If so, we may need to reactivate the Monongalia ARES SKYWARN Net.

2.  Training storms (storms that follow one another in succession) could cause local flooding overnight. At this time there are no flood watches or warnings in our area.

3. With widespread thunderstorms today and light winds and eventually clear skies, dense fog looks like a good bet for Monongalia and Preston Counties, If fog develops it will be widespread (not just valleys) so please be careful if you are out driving later tonight.

Sincere appreciation to the stations who checked in and monitored the Monongalia ARES SKYWARN Net tonight!
