Some folks have correctly observed that recently there have been frequent weather messages. This morning an explanation sent out from the Pittsburgh NWS:

“You don't need me to tell you it has been a busy start to the severe weather season. So far, the Pittsburgh National Weather Service office has tied the most number of severe thunderstorm warnings issued year to date with 48. The record number for a year is 360 set in 1998. We still have a ways to go to get there and here is to hoping we don’t!”

That’s the reason. Hopefully we can look forward to several days that should be quiet in terms of severe weather conditions and weather messages posted  on this list.
