Subject: [W8MWA] The coming week at W8MWA

On Monday, at 8:30 PM, there is a monthly North Central WV 2M SSB Net on 144.210, USB.

Right after that, we hold our usual ARES Traffic and Training Net at 9:00 PM on the W8MWA 145.430 repeater.

If you care to stay up later, there is often another informal chat SSB net on 144.210, USB, following the ARES net.  This group frequently meets after the ARES net  Drop in to find out more.

On Tuesday, we conduct an informal gathering at Los Mariachis Restaurant in University Town Centre, where those who can free themselves from other duties (i.e. retires, students, and bums)  gather to discuss philosophical conundrums like, is "FT8 ham radio?", and "there's another $3 handy talky from China?" We do this while getting heartburn and reflux from Mexican hot sauce.

Later on Tuesday, we have our monthly W8MWA club meeting at the Red Cross Building on Pineview Drive at 7:00 PM.  .  Be sure to attend, where you can hear the dulcet voices of our secretary describing to you the exact status of our fiscal affairs; our president, telling you that he still does not understand why you elected him; and our West Virginia ARRL Section Manager, describing to you why you must join ARRL or all your future QSOs will be accompanied by a signal report of "NO COPY, RS(T) 23(9) OM, QRM., QRN, TNX for trying."  Incidentally, we will continue to plan for Field Day, and Nate Ozy (N8OZY, will tell you why we are still unable to increase our repeater signal strength or receive gain.
