There is potential for severe weather this evening in Monongalia, Marion and Preston Counties. As a result, the Pittsburgh National Weather Service has asked us to activate the Monongalia ARES SKYWARN Net. We will comply with the NWS request and activate the SKYWARN Net on W8MWA repeater (145.430 MHz, -600 offset, 103.5 P.L.)

Currently, except for some strong winds, the weather is calm here. However, strong storms have developed over Ohio and have reached the West Virginia Panhandle at this hour.Therefore, we will activate the SKYWARN Net at 1900 EDT (7 PM) this evening, Sunday, May 14, 2024.

*** Please monitor the W8MWA repeater. Remember the NWS needs our reports and weather information as their RADAR can not reach Morgantown, Fairmont, etc
