The Pittsburgh National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) are warning of a Level 2 potential for severe weather in our area on Tuesday. The SPC Probability Map shows a risk for wind, large hail, thunderstorms and even a possible tornado. (See the attached graphic.)
Tuesday is still several days away and this could change between now and then. Nevertheless please be alert and, if possible, monitor the W8MWA two meter repeater (145.430 MHz, -600, PL 103.5) on Tuesday especially if watches and warnings are posted.
Here is the latest update issued at 05:32 this morning:
“There is a chance for multiple days of strong to severe storms today through Tuesday. The main threats will be large hail, damaging winds, and heavy downpours. Higher probabilities of all hazards in severe storms arrive on Tuesday, but this will continued to be monitored.
“Tuesday continues to be the day to stay alert for. Today through Monday will feature mainly a wind and hail threat with some minor flooding concerns as well. Stay tuned for updates.”
