The Internet Archive now has old magazines and other material from amateur radio.  Here is a link to old callbooks.  The main page is a mess, but if you dig through it, you may find that a particular callbook was scanned and is in the archive.  I found my second call, WA2LXK, in the 1962 callbook, and KX2A in the 1983 Winter callbook.  You may have to dig through the Winter and Spring versions to find the first mention of an old callsign.
