I have a recent update from the Pittsburgh NWS, but my main purpose in sending this message is to pass along a compliment from WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh.

Scott Harbaugh is one of WPXI’s lead Meteorologists. He has been following the SKYWARN snowfall reports that we and others have been submitting throughout the day. He just posted the following message:

“Hey good evening everyone. Thanks for the updates that have been sent throughout the day. The ones from the ham radio operators were especially helpful to us at WPXI and appreciated. Thanks as always Scott Harbaugh, WPXI.”

That kind of recognition from the media is great for amateur radio!

Now for the NWS update:

Very little change in the current conditions south of the Pittsburgh metro.... this will continue to allow snow to pile up over the next 1-2 hours.

The good news is that there appear to be signs that the snow boundary (extending between Canton, OH and Clarion, PA) will push southwards and take the snow with it, putting an end to training accumulations.
